Book Review : Chumbalina The Plump Princess by Christopher Holley

Author    : Christopher Holley
Genre     : Fairytale, Children's book
Rating    : 4.5/5
Age level : 5-11

SUMMARY

This isn't your typical fairytale. Chumbalina is a plump princess and her size keeps preventing everyone from seeing just how fantastically fabulous she truly is. When she runs away, a gruesome giant tries to conquer the kingdom. Will evil prevail or will Chumbalina’s awesome appetite and epic eating contest idea save the day?

This fairytale was written for all the princesses out there who know that true beauty comes from within.

MY REVIEW

Food never made fun of her
Food never judged her
Food was her one, true friend

Written by Christopher Holley and illustrated by Giedre Seniuniene, Chumbalina The Plump Princess is a fun book that kids will really enjoy interacting with (especially if your child happens to love fairytale). This book offers a great story with charming illustrations. This book is about a princess named Chumbalina. She was not like the other princesses. I love her character so much! She is fun, humorous, smart and most importantly she dares to be different!

This beautifully illustrated book is a delightful addition to any little girl’s library. The illustrations are charming and beautiful. Younger children will enjoy the simple prose and will eventually be able to read it themselves, which is sure to make this book a favourite!

This is a perfect gift for all the princesses out there.
