Indie Author Interview : Leelo Deschain

" In your own words, please tell us about yourself "
I am a single mother of six, and have been writing as long as I can remember.

" Who are your favorite writers, your favorite books, and who or what are your writing influences? "
My favorite authors are Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Ednah Walters. The Odd Thomas series is probably my favorite set of books ever, but Interview With The Vampire is what made me want to become an author.

"What led you into writing? Was it a lifelong ambition, or the result of some type of turning point in your life?"
I finally began self-publishing my stories this year, not for any major reason except that I just felt like it was time. All of my children finally began going to school which freed up a lot of my time, and I knew I was ready to finally pursue writing as a career.

" When did you first know that you wanted to be a writer? "
I first knew I wanted to be a writer at the age of 15, when I discovered Anne Rice and her incredible world of vampires.

" If there was one thing you could tell your readers, what would it be? "
First, I would say thank you so much to everyone who reads my books and gives me a chance! It means the world to me!!  I would also tell my readers never give up! Whatever it is that ails you, saddens you, breaks your heart, or takes your freedom, do not ever quit. Eventually your life will be just as it is supposed to.

" What are the strategies and tools indie authors can use to promote their books? "
Word of mouth, and social media. I have gained many new readers just from my followers sharing my posts on Instagram and Twitter, and it has been a major turning point for me and sales!

" Who do you see as your target audience and where can we buy the book? "
My major audience would be anyone who enjoys erotica! Both men and women have shared that they enjoy my books and that is a blessing. My books, at the moment, are only available in digital format on Kindle or the Kindle app.

" How can readers connect with you? "
Readers can connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, or Goodreads. Just look for my name!
