SYNOPSIS
Courtney Ross has lived her whole life doing everything by the book. She’s a top student, the captain of the cheer squad at her Scottsdale high school, and a nervous wreck most of the time. For summer vacation before senior year, she finally has her chance just to relax. She will be spending it with her best friend, Vanessa, in her tiny hometown of Gem City, Ohio. Courtney’s hoping for a chance to breathe, and maybe even for some of Vanessa’s carefree nature to rub off on her. What she doesn’t expect is Ethan Fisher. Courtney knows she’s in trouble the minute she sees him holding a guitar at her “Welcome Back” party. Her instincts prove to be correct as she gets to know him, and she finds her head spinning. What will this mean for the girl who always plays by the rules?

In her first full-length novel, Nicole Campbell delivers a perfect beach read for the older Young Adult crowd. Readers will re-live their first relationships (the good, the bad, and the overwhelming), or imagine the spark of what the future might hold in this story full of the type of intensity only found in young love.

Due to mature themes and mild language, recommended for readers 16+

MY REVIEW

" When she smiles at me,
I can see who I'm supposed to be,
Near or far, however hard it is
I can see what she can't see,
When she goes like this- "

Music is a big part of my everyday existence, so by finding a book surrounded by it is always a nice treat! What I love the most about this book is there are song suggestions written at the beginning of each chapter. I found this book on Instagram . I'd been interested in this book ever since I knew about it , and the moment I saw it, I knew I had to request this book from the author. The book sounded and looked fantastic, so sitting and waiting, waiting and sitting until I was accepted! The excitement had hit a record high. There is something about this book that is addictive. I couldn't put it down!

Let's start with the characters in this beautiful book. The main protagonist, Courtney is a sweet and shy young high school teenager who has self-confidence issues. She is the top student and a captain of the cheer squad at her school. She travels to Ohio to spend her summer with her extrovert bestfriend, Vanessa before entering her senior year. At Ohio, she meets a handsome guitarist, Ethan Fisher. Her life changes when she meets the lovely and attractive Ethan. She begins to open up, becomes more outgoing and transforms into an amazing young lady! Ethan on the other hand is a cute, sweet and thoughtful guy. He plays guitar, writes songs...and...has abs...They instantly hit it off on their first meeting. I liked both Courtney and Ethan. They were clichéd characters, but they just clicked. Oh and there is Ben. He is an absolute sweetheart and super adorable! I LOVE THE CHARACTERS SO MUCH especially Courtney's bestfried Vanessa. She is witty, humorous and quite the comedian when she wants to be. Vanessa has a boyfriend, Luke. Vanessa and Luke were loads of fun and stole every scene they were in! Their characters are really important in making this book more fun and intresting to read. I was really able to connect with the characters but I wish there would have been a little more character development for the two main characters.

Another thing I loved about the book is the setting. I enjoyed getting to read about the Gem City.

I have never read anything by Nicole Campbell and I was looking for some sweet romance to read and the opportunity to read this book came up! I am so happy that i read this book, because it was exactly what I was looking for! It was a light quick read and it was so cute. The romance in this book was really adorable. Was it instalove? Yes it is. Do I like instalove? No I don't. I didn't like this instalove either, but something happened and I was able to overlook it.

The book is really good but i think it is lack of action ( the reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars.

I was in the mood for a quick romance read, and this did the trick. I would definitely recommend this book to those who love Contemporary YA. I felt it was definitely worth the read and it will have a prized place on my shelf.

If you are looking for a smile-inducing and easy read, this book is definitely for you!

♥ THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING BOOK NICOLE ♥

I can't wait to read the second book! It is in ETHAN'S perspective OMG!!
